The full text of Rule 12 at the JREF Forums reads, Attack the argument, not the arguer. Having your opinion, claim or argument challenged, doubted or dismissed is not attacking the arguer. Seems like a good idea in general, but some things just need to be said, ya know? Biting your tongue gets old and leads to hairy palms. Here are some choice comments about a few of the more...interesting... forum members. We're all thinking these kinds of things. I'm just writing them down. If you'd like somebody reviewed here, leave a comment somewhere. I'll see it.

RSLancastr

Since we're talking about The Chosen, might as well talk about the JREF's most revered member and honorary sacred cow, RSLancastr. RSL, as he's affectionately known by the fawning millions, created the website www.StopSylvia.com, a site dedicated to exposing the truth about Sylvia Browne. And then he had a stroke. A major stroke. This sucks, and he has my sympathies.

Unfortunately, it seems that attacking someone as awful as Sylvia Browne and having a stroke has propelled him to legendary status over at the JREF. They raised thousands of dollars for him by pestering every visitor the General Skepticism and the Paranormal forum with a sticky thread soliciting donations and updating us with every useless detail about his progress. We're here to talk about Bigfoot, not clogged arteries.

Brattus and UncaYimmy apparently got sick of everyone sending warm wishes to RSL. Or maybe they got jealous. Who knows? Anyway, they spoke up and said enough is enough. Of course, the Fawning Millions heard "RSL is a bad person!" It raised quite a stink with alleged skeptics making all sorts of ridiculous arguments in attempt to make Brattus and UY look like dicks, something both did quite well on their own.

But this is about RSL. You seem like a decent guy, but please shut up about the stroke already. Each year about 700,000 people in the USA have a stroke. You think you're the only one on the forums who has had one? Does this define who you are now? The stroke guy? Tell your wife to quit treating you like a baby and whining at everybody on "her" forum who doesn't fawn all over you. Move on with your life.

Oh, and when people tell you what a wonderful guy you are, do you really need to quote it back and say thanks? Do we really need to see it a second time? Wasn't once enough? How about a little humility? If you think Sylvia has devoted followers who can't think straight, take a look a little closer to home.
